In the
past American Football as been a guy thing... but now it seems
like more and more ladies are enjoying the game... and I bet
even more men and women would watch and like it, if they only
understood what the heck was going on!
At the
ripe old age of 50 I can no longer play the game at the level
the Tigers play without a body transplant and a very good health
plan.
But... I
have turned into a very good arm chair coach /quarterback.
I owe a lot of my new found knowledge and would-be skills to the
many books and web sites devoted to teaching us fans about the
game and the rules that govern the play.
Before I
go any further take note: The Tigers are a Minor League Football
team not an NFL team...for example in the NFL they get paid to
play the game. In Minor League Football the players do not get
paid to play. Although accept for a few minor rule changes
almost every thing elks as far as game play is concern is
the same as the pro's.
That
being said... I found on the web easy to understand, go at your
own pace information that will help you understand the game from
a new perspective. The site is geared towards the NFL but the
general information about player positions and such still
applies to the Minor League.
OK, I
could waste more of your time explaining the site to you... I
chose not... so here's a link.
The
Wilmington Tigers is Wilmington North Carolina's only
proven Minor League Football Team.
This is our third season in the Mason-
Dixon Football League and we are proud to represent the
Wilmington and surrounding areas with excellence and
professionalism. Our players and staff are all local
volunteers with a heart for the game.
